Refund Policy
Effective Date: January 15, 2025
At Intelligence in Energy Tech, we want you to feel confident about enrolling in our budgeting education programs. This policy explains how refunds work, what situations qualify, and how to request one if your circumstances change. We've designed this to be straightforward because financial education should reduce stress, not add to it.
Understanding Refund Eligibility
Not every situation qualifies for a refund, and that's something we need to be upfront about. The timing of your request matters. So does how far you've progressed through a course. We've found that most people who complete even the first few modules get enough value that they don't want to leave, but life happens and we get that.
Full Refund Period
Request within 14 days of purchase and before accessing more than 20% of course materials. This gives you enough time to explore the first module without feeling rushed.
Partial Refund Window
Between 15-30 days after purchase, with less than 50% course completion. We calculate a prorated amount based on content accessed and time elapsed.
Special Circumstances
Medical emergencies, unexpected job loss, or technical issues that prevented access. We review these individually because sometimes the standard rules don't fit.
How the Refund Process Actually Works
We've kept this simple because dealing with financial processes shouldn't feel like solving a puzzle. Here's what happens from the moment you reach out to when you see the money back in your account.
Submit Your Request
Email [email protected] with your enrollment details and reason for the refund. Include your order number if you have it, but we can look it up with your email address if needed.
Initial Review
Our team reviews your request within 48 business hours. We check your enrollment date, course progress, and any notes from your account. If we need clarification, someone will email you directly.
Decision Notification
You'll receive an email explaining whether your refund was approved, the amount, and when to expect it. If there's an issue with your request, we'll explain why and discuss alternatives.
Processing Payment
Approved refunds typically process within 5-7 business days. The exact timing depends on your payment method and bank. Credit cards tend to be faster than bank transfers.
Important Timing Information
After 30 days from your purchase date, we can't process refunds through our standard system. That's when courses move into "archived enrollment" status in our database. But reach out anyway if you're dealing with something unusual.
For programs starting in September 2025 or later, you can request refunds up until 7 days before the official start date without any penalties or questions asked.
Different Scenarios, Different Approaches
Your situation might not fit neatly into one category. We've outlined the most common scenarios we see and how we typically handle them.
Technical Issues
- Couldn't access video content due to platform errors
- Downloaded materials were corrupted or incomplete
- Login problems that support couldn't resolve
- Course content didn't load properly on your device
Personal Circumstances
- Unexpected medical situations requiring attention
- Job changes that affect your available time
- Family emergencies taking priority
- Financial hardship developing after enrollment
What Doesn't Qualify
Some things fall outside refund eligibility, and we want to be clear about these upfront. If you've completed more than 75% of a course, that's considered substantially used. Same goes if you've downloaded all the course materials, printed workbooks, or attended live sessions.
Changing your mind after finishing a course doesn't qualify either. We've had people ask for refunds after completing everything and receiving their certificate, which doesn't really make sense when you think about it.
Payment Method Details
How you paid affects how you get refunded. It's not that complicated, but there are some differences worth knowing about.
Credit and Debit Cards
These usually process fastest. We initiate the refund on our end within 2 business days of approval, then your bank takes another 3-5 business days to post it. You'll see it as a credit on your statement, often referencing our company name.
Bank Transfers
For payments made through direct bank transfer, we'll need your current banking details to send the refund. Double-check that account information before sending it over. These can take 7-10 business days to appear in your account, sometimes longer for international transfers.
Installment Plans
If you paid in installments and request a refund, we calculate what you've used and refund the difference. Any scheduled future payments get cancelled immediately. You won't be charged again once your refund is approved.
Course Credits as an Alternative
Sometimes a refund isn't what you actually need. Maybe you enrolled in the wrong program, or your schedule changed but you still want to learn budgeting basics later. We can convert your payment into course credits that don't expire for 18 months.
These credits work for any of our programs, and you can split them across multiple courses if you want. Several students have used this option when they realized they needed prerequisite knowledge first or when work travel disrupted their plans.
Thailand-Specific Processing Notes
For students in Thailand, bank transfers may take slightly longer due to local banking processing times. Thai bank holidays can add 1-2 business days to refund timelines.
If you paid through a Thai bank and need a refund to a different country's bank, expect international transfer fees and longer processing times, typically 10-14 business days.
What Happens After a Refund
Once your refund processes, your course access ends immediately. You won't be able to log in to view materials, download new resources, or access community forums tied to that program.
Any certificates or completion records get revoked too. If you listed the course on a resume or LinkedIn profile, you'll need to remove those references since the enrollment is no longer valid.
Downloaded materials before the refund? We ask that you delete those files. They're still covered under our terms of use even after a refund, meaning you can't share them or keep using them.
Questions and Exceptions
This policy covers most situations, but unusual circumstances come up. We've dealt with power outages during exam periods, family emergencies right before program launches, and technical glitches that nobody could have predicted.
If your situation doesn't fit these guidelines, explain what happened. We review exception requests individually. There's no guarantee, but we try to find reasonable solutions when the standard policy doesn't quite work.
